Chris and Margarita Hawley are the original owners and designed and built Mnarani House, (with the help of Sidiki of Baitil Aman Guest House). The plot was bought in 1989 and building started at about the same time as Jasmine House, to be completed in August 1990. The doors and windows are all original Swahili antiques which the family bought on a trip to Pate and other neighbouring islands during the building of the house.
