SGR (Standard Gauge Railway Kenya) or the now crowned Madaraka Express Train to Mombasa has brought good tidings to the Kenyan Domestic Market.

Within 4.5 hours, you can have an early breakfast in Nairobi arriving Mombasa in time for lunch aboard the express train that departs Nairobi Syokimau Terminus at 0800hrs arriving by 1400 hours local time.

Recently, a night train was introduced with departure time being 2200hrs arriving at Mombasa at 0400hrs. Perfect for a quick 2 - 4 nights weekend getaway. If you depart on Friday night to arrive Mombasa on Saturday morning, check in at your hotel in time for mid morning breakfast. Spend the entire weekend i.e Saturday and Sunday at the hotel and commute back to Nairobi on Monday night to arrive in Nairobi in good time to even report at your place of work.
