Shella Bahari Guest House is one of few ocean front guest houses on Lamu Island. The Guest House is located only minutes from the famous 12-km Shela beach.
Bahari started out as a small restaurant in 1989 and now feature 5 en suite bedrooms.

The Shella Bahari Guest House boasts 5 bedrooms, all ensuite, decorated with quaint pieces of Swahili furniture. Each room is equipped with ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
Your room at Shella Bahari places you within easy reach of the beautiful Shela beach. From the village pier, you can catch a dhow going to Lamu town or take a sunset sail with friends and walk along Manda beach located directly across the channel.

A kitchen on the top floor of the Guest House can also be used to brew a cup of tea or coffee at any hour of the day or night.
The restaurant downstairs has a variety of Swahili dishes. They also serve fish and seafood specialties which one can enjoy on the waterfront as they chat with locals. A wonderful surprise can be arranged by making a special order twenty four hours in advance which can include catered dishes such as Pilau, Biriani, Samosa's, Kebab, Coconut Fish and so much more!
