This page brings you a selection of four most visited National parks within a distance of 2-3 hrs drive from Arusha for one day excursions. Lake Manyara , Lake Tarangire, Arusha National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Tanzania's national parks and game reserves cover almost 25% of the country and protect an estimated 20% of Africa's largest mammals.
Lake Manyara lions have developed a liking for residing in the branches of trees, where they can both sleep and watch for prey. Arusha National park on the other hand offers beautiful landscape and a diversity of game within its small boundaries. By contrast, Tarangire is most active during the dry season while Ngorongoro Crater is darling to all and a Must visit.
Departing from Arusha Town early morning
At 0630hrs - Africa Hub Vacations Representative will pick you up with packed lunch from the lodge or hotel to either Arusha National Park; Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National park or the famous Ngorongoro Crater Conservancy area.
We will indulge in intense game drives making the most of our time from the respective parks. We have Picnic lunch and later an afternoon game drive as we exit the respective park returning to our base hotel in Arusha just before dusk.

One 1 Day Hike / Trek Mt Meru National Park Arusha Tanzania
1 Day Mt Meru One Day Trek / Hike is designed for guests who have limited time and who are not interested in reaching the summit of the second highest mountain in Tanzania. This day hike offers participants two routes the first being lighter than the second option.
Option 1. FOREST HIKE
This trek will take a forest trail on the Outer Ring Route towards Miriakamba hut. The trek is meant to bring you closer to the flora and fauna of this area and therefore it is more of a nature walk on one part. Trekking time and nature study will take from 3 to 6 hours to and from the starting point at Momella gate. This includes resting time for picnic lunch at Jikukumia waterfalls.
Option 2. HIKE TO MIRIAKAMBA HUT (2514m) AND BACK TO MOMELLA GATE
Miriakamba Hut is the first stage on the 3 - 4 days trek to the peak of Mt. Meru (4566m). The hut is approached by two routes of which one is a direct ascent from the Momella Gate starting point. The other route is an open loop with a gentle ascent on the montane forested zone.
For an avid hiker, you can do the direct route up to Miriakamba Hut. It takes 4 – 5 hours depending on your stamina and pace. Picnic lunch and a good rest at Miriakamba Hut. Afterwards, descend by the Outer route which is an easier hike down to the gate approximately 3 hours.

The magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Warthogs, Dikdiks, Antelopes, Bushbucks, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, birds including Turacos (Hartlaub) Hornbills, Butterflies such as the Golden winged forester, Mocker Swallow tailed among others.
