Shimba Hills National Reserve on the other hand holds one of the largest areas of coastal rain forest in East Africa after Arabuko Sokoke. The vegetation consists of forested scarp slopes and undulating grasslands interspersed with woodland clumps and ribbons of riverine forest in the steeply cut valleys. The Scenic landscape comprising of hills and valleys extending beyond the reserve boundaries are wonderful to behold. Main attractions are Sheldricks Falls and the rare Sable antelope. Hot sumptuous lunch will be served at the Coastal Tree Lodge.

Travelers Mwaluganje Camp is set in the heart of the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary, in the Mwaluganje Hills and a 45 km drive from Mombasa, Kenya's city seaport and Coast capital, the camp is set along the shoulder of a low hill facing a traditional elephant trail, allowing guests to watch the elephants from the comfort of their well-appointed comfortable tents. The tents are twenty, simple, twin-room structures with mosquito nets and are self contained. There are often no mosquitoes though.
