Accomodation at Thayu
Thayu accommodation comprises of cottages, an annex and a renovated farm house.
There are five cottages, all designed like the traditional Gikuyu hut. Each has a modern bathroom, two bedrooms, and an equipped kitchenette. It also contains a country style living room with a cosy fireplace to gather guests and family over a drink. You can also sit on the porch, watch as the sun sets or enjoy reading your favourite book. Occasionally you may catch sight of a colubus monkey swing among the trees.
The Annex houses nineteen tastefully designed self-contained rooms, a blend of country and African influences. Each is furnished with modern amenities and a reading area to help you catch up with some work. The rooms provide easy access to each other for those travelling together. The balcony overlooks a flower garden. Here you can sit reading or catch a drink as the night falls.
The farm house comprises of six elegantly designed self contained rooms, a common lounge and exclusive board-room, combining a modern touch with African influences. Each room is furnished with modern amenities and a reading area to help you catch up with some work.
Thayu Cuisine
Our restaurant offers guests a chance to enjoy a wide variety of tantalizing indigenous and exotic dishes in a natural ambience; prepared to guests' specifications.
Dishes ranging from local, farm fresh delicacies to exotic cuisine, all prepared to suit your to our guests specifications.
Known for our tempting mouthwatering roast goat reared in the mineral-rich highland pastures. Thayu grows most if its food assuring our guests of the freshness of our food. With the meals prepared to the guest's specifications. Our guests also have the option of preparing their own food in the self-catering cottages.
Meal times are as follows:
Breakfast is served: 7.00am - 8.30am
Lunch is served: 12.30pm - 2.00pm
Dinner is served: 7.00pm - 8.30pm
