Watamu House is an example of the harmony between tradition and modernity, nature and artifice, soulfulness and style. Designed as a home for an Italian family that has been exploring Kenya for four generations, the home reflects a history on the East African coast, with a sensibility towards a comfortable and inviting space, decorated with African artifacts and furniture. Under the Mkuti roof, each pole from Zanzibar hand carved and crafted, which rises a total of fifteen metres high, the rooms are arranged at varying heights and angles to maximize the breeze. Built to encourage the coastal breezes that drift off the ocean, Watamu house has wrap around spacious verandahs, individual terraces as well as an 18 seat open air dining area. Within the main house are four bedrooms, a central living room and the dining room. Within the guest house cottage are another two en-suite double bedrooms, a separate dining room and a second story lounge.

Our seafood is caught by a local fisherman with the freshest catches of the day. From simple garden fresh gazpacho to elaborate four course meals for a full table, our chef and kitchen staff are professionally prepared and equipped for any requirements.
