Grogan's Castle Hotel is a Boutique Hotel situated below Mt Kilimanjaro over looking a 360 degree view of the Parre Mountains, Lake Jipe, Tsavo National Park and Mt Kilimanjaro.
It is a moorish/art deco designed building, built in the 1930's with original details that has just been renovated. There are 5 en suite double bedrooms ( rooms are so large as extra beds can be added) and a guest cottage that sleeps 4 (self catering).

General Information
Situated 280kms from Mombasa, 450kms from Nairobi via Voi,350kms. via Emali/Oloitokitok road or 130kms from Arusha. 25 minutes from the Castle to the Lake Jipe entrance to Tsavo West National Park. 20 minutes to Lake Jipe which has the largest concentration of bird varietiesin one area in Africa.
Taveta area is well documented for its historical position during the 1st World War between the English and the Germans. Taveta cemetery is the only place where English and German are laid to rest side by side. During the 1st World War there was a large battle fought, with many lives lost on both sides, in the Taveta Gap on a hill called Salaita Hill (called "slaughter Hill" by the British but the locals could not pronounce the word).
