Rockside Camp is situated at the foot of a rocky Kopje (small rocky hill) with views of the Taita Hills. It is a great family-owned base to explore both Tsavo East and West National Parks. Rockside Camp was established as an hotel in 1986 by Mark & Nana Tozer, previously it was known as a Hunters' Camp, a tented base for hunting safaris. When the Tozers took over, they rebuilt the camp and replaced the tents with 16 cosy wooden bandas and 7 new luxury bungalows all with en suite facilities.
Rockside Camp is not an ordinary camp; they pride themselves on their personal and individual attention to every need of the guests. The Tozers live at the camp on a permanent basis, and over the years, they and their team have done their best in making Rockside Camp a home in the bush for all their guests to enjoy. There is a swimming pool with views out over the bush and out to the Taita Hills as well as Mt Kilimanjaro on a clear day.
