Aberdare Cottages & Campsite is located in a 10 acre private farm in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains in Central Kenya. Only 125km from Kenya's capital city Nairobi, 35 minutes drive from Aberdare National park. The area includes a beautiful tropical miniforest complete with abundant birdlife, hundreds of different types of trees and plants, a small creek complete with natural mini waterfalls.

The Aberdare Cottages & campsite is perfectly positioned for touring and exploring this enchanting region. The campsite situated in the Aberdares most exquisite settings, overlooks the roaring Mathioya River against the backdrop of the Aberdare Mountains at her highest peak. Accommodation & Room Types

Aberdare Cottages & Campsite has 6 wooden chalets and 5 luxury tents all overlooking the Mathioya or Karaitho rivers and have a private romantic veranda,en suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower. A camping area is set aside in the woods on well lit grounds for the adventurous and young at heart. The camping site has hot shower bathrooms.

Dining & Staff

Dining services available from bed & breakfast, half board and full board basis. The main dining area consist of a lovely mess area with African rustic furnishing. Meals can be enjoyed in the main mess by the fire place or at the terrace overlooking river Mathioya or Karaitho.

Our chefs take great pride in the food served. All breads, pastries, and pies are home made. We cater for a wide range of tastes including vegetarian specialisties. All meals are made from pure organic vegetables and fruits grown in our adjacent sister farm or sourced from the local community.

There is an elegantly appointed bar, open all day, a restaurant and a comfortable lounge.

The lodge can organize candle light bush dinners with a campfire at the bank of the Mathioya river, a truly unique experience!
