Crater Lake Chala also known as Dschalla is a unique caldera located at the border of Tanzania and Kenya on the eastern edge of Mt Kilimanjaro. This Crater Lake was created as a result of volcanic eruption and its believed to be the deepest inland body of water in Africa. Lake Chala is protected by crater walls which are about 100 meters high and its fed by underground springs flowing from Mount Kilimanjaro. Views from the Rim of the crater are breath taking. Depending on the time of year, the colour of water varies from Deep Blue, Turquoise or Green. Itinerary
At 0730hrs, Africa Hub Vacations Representative will pick you up from your hotel and head to Lake Chala Crater located south of Moshi near Holili border. After driving for approximately 1.5 hours arrive Lake Chala and proceed for a guided tour of this magnificent crater lake. Enjoy your picnic lunch as you relax and appreciate nature's tranquility. After a well spent day, embark on our journey back to Moshi ETA 1700hrs
