The Old Farmhouse Meru is a charming four bedroom Bed and Breakfast located in the town of Meru at the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, offering a peaceful, serene and private oasis. This traditional stone built home is very modern but maintains an authentic character, incorporating vintage interiors and classic farmhouse touches. We are 60 Minutes from Nanyuki and about an hour ten from the Nanyuki Airstrip. Meru Town is about 240 KM from the city of Nairobi. Isiolo Airstrip is close; just 45 minutes drive and major national game parks are close by. The Old Farmhouse Meru is well located for day trips to Lewa, Meru National Park and Mount Kenya.
Accomodation
The house is set in lush mature grounds and beautifully furnished. The house can accommodate one large family, but can also be let separately. All four rooms have comfortable beds and are tastefully furnished with intimate décor. There is one master double room ensuite, one double room in the upstairs gallery and two single rooms with shared (connected) bathroom (ideal for children). Both bathrooms have hot water showers.
Dining and staff
The house offers a dining area, bar area, a comfortable lounge area with fire place, downstairs toilet and a fully working kitchen should you require self catering. There are separate staff quarters as we provide a cook who manage the house and gardens.Breakfast is included in your nights stay but other meals can be arranged on request.
