The Royal Mara is ideally situated for safari game drive viewing, the lodge is situated in the Koyiaki conservation area approximately five miles upriver from the world renowned Koyiaki-Kichwa migration crossing point and near Leopard Gorge, made internationally known by the BBC's Big Cat Diary television program.

Royal Mara offers a blend of the classic tented safari camp with the amenities of a lodge resulting in a unique luxury tented lodge. There are only 8 riverfront tented chalets built on raised mahogany platforms, providing safety from wild animals roaming through the camp at night.
