Richards Camp Masai Mara Kenya

Print PDF

Richard's Camp in Masai Mara, Kenya was originally built as the Robert's home while carrying out conservation work in the Mara. The lodge is a classic tented camp which provides today's explorer with many modern conveniences, yet retains the pioneer traditions of comfort and hospitality. Tucked away in the edge of a beautiful forest, elephant and plains game are regular visitors to the camp's perimeter and bird life abounds.

Host and guide Richard Roberts was raised in the Masai Mara and it is his intimate knowledge of the bush and the Masai tribe, together with his family's traditional warm hospitality, which ensures guests a very special experience. Richard helps design your day to be as relaxing or exciting as you wish. www.crocodileracers.com

Richard's Camp accommodation is in six spacious en suite tents with a veranda, both doubles and twins and triple accommodation available for families. At the end of a day guests can indulge in a Victorian bathroom situated inside the forest where the canopy of trees opens to reveal the breath-taking African night sky whilst surrounded by flickering candles.

Richard's Camp is a traditional tented camp in true African safari style with modern amenities. Each individually decorated tent has either twin or double beds with extra beds available for families. The solar system provides clean, silent power and ensures 24-hour light to all the tents. All of Richard's Camp 6 large and spacious custom designed tents feature an en suite flush loo and heated shower. Rarely has sleeping under canvas been made so comfortable. NB: Richards Main Camp has 7 tents, 2 of which have large double beds, and the other 5 can be either twins or doubles as required.

As the weather almost always permits, guests eat all meals outside under Kenyan skies, but for those rare rainy or chilly evenings, they dine inside, adjacent to the beautiful and cozy sitting room with its roaring fire. Enjoy flopping on the sofa to read or just relax. At the end of the day, guests can indulge in an open-air Victorian bath tucked away in the forest, surrounded by flickering candles and the sounds of the bush.
