Karen Blixen Camp is situated in southern Kenya on the north-western border of the famed Masai Mara National Reserve in the Koiyaki Lemek Conservation area. Set on the banks of the Mara River on a 66 acre piece of private land leased from the Masai community.
With the impressive escarpment in front of Karen Blixen Camp and the great Mara plains behind it where the Mara river provides the focal point the location is spectacular. Karen Blixen Camp comprises 22 luxurious en-suite tents; each set on a beautiful mahogany platform with a spacious veranda completed with cushion daybed from which one can enjoy an afternoon siesta, taking in the wonderful surroundings. Each tent has a private bathroom with toilet, twin washbasins and an outdoor shower with view to the sky. The water is heated by gas and there is 24 hour electricity in all tents provided by solar panels.
Karen Blixen Camp 19 tents are placed along the river whilst 3 are set on raised platforms offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Karen Blixen Camp family unit consists of two tents with a shared veranda. Camp facilities also include a restaurant, a bar, a lounge, a gift shop with wireless internet and a swimming pool. Karen Blixen Camp resident masseuse offers a wide range of wellness treatments.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant or bush garden from where one has an incredible close view of the Mara River and the wild animals coming to drink.
