Mt Kenya's flora and fauna is second to none. The beautiful Tarns are a sight to behold.

Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki – Lake Alice

Transfer from Nairobi to Rutundu gate. After enjoying our picnic lunch, we begin an acclimatization hike in the tropical forests of Mt. Kenya to arrive at Lake Alice camp (alt.2600m) in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Habitat: Montane forest | Hiking time: 3 -4 hrs | Distance: Approximately 5kms | Habitat: steep ascent on semi-forested area

Day 2: Lake Alice – Lake Ellis

Hiking time: 9 - 10 hrs | Distance: Approximately 18kms | Habitat: Moorland, riverine

After breakfast, start the hike up the moorland vegetation, enjoying the amazing scenery of the valleys. Picnic lunches will be served on the way arriving at Lake Ellis camp (alt.3300m) in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 3: Lake Ellis – Lake Michaelson

After breakfast, set off to Lake Michaelson camp for dinner and overnight. Lunch enroute 4 - 5 hrs (km) Alt 3850m

Day 4: Lake Michaelson – Austrian Hut

After breakfast, set forth as we acclimatize to Austrian Hut to arrive in time for lunch 4 - 5 hrs (6km) (Alt 4700m). Dinner and overnight at Top Hut camp

Day 5: Austrian Hut – Summit to Point Lenana – Lake Honnel Camp

Pre-dawn start at 0500hrs Top Hut to summit point Lenana Alt 4985m for sunrise and thereafter descend down to Austrian Hut camp for full breakfast. Further descend down to Lake Honnel in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the camp. (3hrs) (3km)

Day 6: Lake Honnel – Nairobi

After breakfast and feeling like achievers and we surely are, it is easy going down before connecting with the transfer vehicle to our onward destination.

Charges per person:

Any extra day will cost KES 8,000 & USD 180 per person for citizen / resident and non-resident respectively

Children & Students Rate Policy:

• Children between 13 - 17 years, 90% of adult rate
• Children aged 18 years and above, adult rate applies

Deadline for payment: 1 month before departure date

Mode of payment: Cash, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Cheque, Direct Bank Deposit, Debit / Credit card or Secure Online payment

Cheques in favor of: Afrika Hub Vacations Ltd (Cheque payments should reach us on or before the deadline date)
