Crescent Island Private Game Sanctuary is a peninsula or island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. Crescent Island was created in 1988 when Lake Naivasha level dropped sufficiently to allow Crescent Island to become part of the mainland. On the eastern end of the island, sailing is possible at a private boating club. The terrain is flat, making it easy for walkers of all abilities to enjoy themselves.

Its a lot easier to see game e.g. Giraffes, Waterbucks, Elands, Wildebeests, Zebras and Impalas. It is also a heaven for birds with over 200 species recorded. The lake has a lot of hippos which you can easily spot from the island. Boat ride on Lake Naivasha that takes you to Crescent Island for a walking safari. This is one of the few places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals and there are no predators.

Crescent Island Game Sanctuary Summary Itinerary

0730 Hours: Pick-up from your residence / hotel & depart Nairobi for Lake Naivasha Crescent Island walk Game Sanctuary

0930 Hours: Arrive at Lake Naivasha fresh water lake via the Great Riftvalley escarpment. Take a boat ride enroute to Crescent Island for a unique guided walk with the wildlife

1130 Hours: After a fulfilling walk with the wildlife, board the boat back to the main land for a sumptuous lunch at one of the lakeside hotels

1330 Hours: After enjoying your lunch, bid Naivasha bye and return back to Nairobi city

1630 Hours: Nairobi arrival and transfer to your residence / hotel
